Product description

Fiberglass tape is a heat-resistant technical textile strip woven from alkali-free E-glass yarns. It does not burn or rot and keeps its mechanical strength up to 550 °C. Thanks to its low thermal conductivity it serves both as a heat insulation tape and as a soft sealing material at high temperature.

Features and benefits

  • High temperature resistance: 550 °C continuous service; tolerates short peaks.
  • Non-combustible and rot-proof: contains no organic fibre, unaffected by moisture and mould.
  • Low thermal conductivity: effective insulation in a thin section.
  • Easy to apply: cut with scissors, wrapped or laid in a door channel.
  • Coating options: graphite-coated, self-adhesive and silicone-coated variants.

Where is it used?

As a gasket on furnace and boiler doors, as a heat protection wrap on pipes and cables, and as packing and wrap on flue and exhaust connections. In the glass, ceramics and foundry industries it is used for handling hot parts and as a heat shield. For higher temperatures ask us about ceramic fibre alternatives.

Production and quality

The tape is woven on our own loom line. Thickness and width tolerances are monitored on the line; custom widths, roll lengths and coatings are prepared on request.

Applications

  • Sealing of furnace, boiler and flue doors
  • Heat insulation of pipes and hoses
  • Heat protection of cables and equipment
  • Exhaust and heat exchanger connections
  • Glass, ceramics and foundry industries
  • Heat shields in welding and cutting areas

Frequently asked

How do I determine the packing size?
The cross-section equals half the difference between the stuffing box bore and the shaft diameter: (bore − shaft) / 2. For a 60 mm bore and 40 mm shaft, a 10 × 10 mm square section is used. If unsure, send us your dimensions.
What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Standard sections ship from stock in boxes from 1 kg. Custom sections, lengths or impregnations are produced on short lead times. We organise domestic and export shipments.

Send us your dimensions and operating conditions; we will recommend the right packing.

Share shaft diameter, stuffing box size, medium, temperature and pressure, and our technical team will get back to you shortly.
